Eamon Lynch sits on the same desk as Brandel Chamblee, so it’s not surprising they’re guilty of doing the same thing. Screaming from the sidelines with fake outrage, being paid actors for the PGA, criticizing players for abetting “sports washing” while they’re really just upset that the board members are losing money. Here’s the latest example:

Lynch: Jay Monahan’s retreat at least spares him the spectacle of Patrick Cantlay’s artless coup

I don’t like any of these Real Housewives of Sports TV that are watered down WWE personalities with these crazy over the top takes and fake outrage just to get their own clicks and brands going. These TV clowns are everywhere Skip Bayless, Stephen A, Smith, Brandel Chamblee, and Eamon Lynch. They’re trying to put on a show like Hulk Hogan or Macho Man but they have only a fraction of the talent and zero showmanship.

But ultimately they fall flat when their script is flawed, which is what is going on with Eamon here. Also a side note, if you’re going to cast judgment on someone for where their money is coming from then you better be pretty damn sure your bank account is clean. Someone from Reddit alleges that Eamon Lynch’s isn’t so clean, and personally, I don’t know or care if it’s true. If you dig deep enough there will be some hypocrisy there, I guarantee it.

Eamon’s Whiff

Eamon’s latest ramblings take aim at Patrick Cantlay. He takes a few shots at Cantlay and questions his motives when it comes to the LIV and PGA merger. To be honest, it’s extremely wordy and the the only thing that was clear to me in the article is that Lynch has his nose firmly planted in the butt of the board members at the PGA and specifically Jay Monahan. Monahan just oversaw one of the biggest gaffes in professional sports but Lynch gives him a pass apparently. Monahan put up a morality wall against LIV that fell faster than a pair of panties on prom night. I’ll give Jay a bit of respect for going out in front of the media and taking a beating for a couple of days but then…? A medical issue and a leave of absence with no explanation? Who am I to question another man’s health? No one. So I won’t question it, but…. it is very convenient timing, that’s all I’ll say.

Back to Eamon’s love note to Monahan:

“It’s unclear whether Monahan will return to the PGA Tour. It would be understandable if he opted out. Because what is the appeal of a job that’s been reduced to scavenging in order to meet the grotesquely inflated price tags his players put on their charisma? A value that a rational market has shown no sign of supporting.”

Eamon, if you’re gonna go spelunking inside of someone’s butt for some brownie points it’s recommended that you come up for air occasionally. Are you seriously suggesting that Jay Monahan should walk away because Patrick Cantlay’s gonna want some money? Maybe he should walk away because he told people like Rory McIlroy to prepare for war but waived the white flag before any damage was done. He said it himself, he’s a hypocrite.

In typical Real Housewives of TV fashion Eamon hurled some nasty comments at Cantlay:

“Patrick Cantlay, who carries himself with the assurance of a man convinced he’d be a partner at Goldman Sachs if he wasn’t merely sporting its logo on his cap, has been trying to rally players against the deal with the Saudis, and against members of the Tour’s policy board who architected or support it. It hardly needs to be stated that his objections aren’t based on the morality of dealing with human rights abusers. Existing PGA Tour incentives won’t much benefit Cantlay. He won’t get rich from the Player Impact Program that bonuses stars on fan engagement since the only needle he moves is the gas gauge on his car. So the logic of Cantlay’s coup d’etat is that if LIV disappears as a threat — a likely occurrence under the deal — then players like him have no options, no leverage over the Tour, and no prospects for the lucrative payday to which they feel entitled.”

Meow Eamon! Andy Cohen would be proud…

SB Nation seems like they’re drinking the morality Kool-Aid served by PGA board members too with this ridiculous headline:

Dumb headline

Eamon Lynch’s words are capable of hitting like a double decker bus? More like a fart in the wind. Let’s rewrite that headline Savannah:

Certified Turd Eamon Lynch’s Verbal Diarrhea Falls Flat: Crop Dusts Patrick Cantlay With Fart In Wind

Too fecal? I like it. The only thing that Lynch gets right in this column is that Cantlay isn’t a fan favorite. His slow play and poor response definitely hasn’t sat well with fans so he’s not going to garner a big payday due to his popularity. The PGA and its board members have got to be in full spin mode on the merger headlines. It’s not Jay Monahan’s fault the PGA had to take the so called “blood money” it’s because of the greedy players. Not overpaid execs and board members coupled with outdated  tour structure and too many tournaments. No it’s the greedy players fault…

The worst thing you can do with these fake outrage, paid actors is give them attention. They say outrageous things to get a reaction so as soon as you feed into it you’ve lost… so I guess I’m the loser here. But I’ll gladly take the L to point out that Eamon Lynch’s ramblings didn’t hit like a bus, at best it was a fart in the wind.
